Happy New Financial Year!

Our new financial year started on July 1st. That's when we do our tax returns. So let's raise a glass to a good refund and party on. Thanks to Wicked Wednesday's timely topic Christmas in July, I made this celebratory ATC. It's raining $100 notes, fah lah, lah, lah...

Moo Mania & More came up with Paris as this fortnight's topic. A while back, I won a prize and received this handmade tag along with the main prize. I wish I could remember which blog and which gorgeous crafter this came from. So no, I did not make this, just added the red-white-blue ribbons. Thank you, anonymous crafter, you're gorgeous and I am showing off your tag.

Horrorshow

I thought this week's theme on Wicked Wednesday - Horrorscope, is a tough one. But my husband said:  "Get real, it's the easiest of the lot - Year of the Cat". Every day, our cat is the softest, most purringful person around. However, we are forever cursed with a MEOW!!! of indescribable decibel proportions at 4 am every single morning. Since 2007, every year for us is year of the cat.

And just have to enter this ATC into Show Us Your Pussies Furry-Thing Goes challenge this month.

In response to Colour Q's palette challenge for this week, I have a quilled chameleon ATC.

It looks like it's Father's Day around various parts of the world. Down here it's not til September.


The keyword on Wicked Wednesday this week is Bookworm. I found this a tough one and eventually ended up embroidering a reading worm. Suppose this can be used as a bookmark. It's been about 7 years since I read a book - shame on me!

Paul

June's topic on ATC's met Herz is Im Wasser (In the Water).
Does anyone remember Paul the Octopus who predicted winners in the 2010 soccer World Cup? Have a look here, here and here. Who would have thought that the whole world would come to love a yucky creature. Paul passed away shortly after he became famous. He had an interesting life.
Here is a tribute to Paul.

Paul is stitched in metallic thread on hand dyed cloth. Couldn't get the photo to sparkle enough, so took one in almost darkness:
