And in the End, there was still the Magic!

Done, that's it for 2014 inchies, and Trillian is ending it with Magical. Thank you, EIM club, for sticking through and sharing these little cuties filled with your creativity. I will be back next week because I am addicted and love working through these in between my large sized projects.
To welcome in 2015, pour me some magical elixir. Let's go!

Where would we be without Fireworks? And that's what the last twinchie theme is for the year.  When I met my husband, it was fireworks. Now, 9 years on, we are getting ready to invite some more in.

Many tiny projects became 2 big ones. 52 weeks of ideas and creativity:

2 boxes with lids, each fits half a year of inchies.

Shadowbox for the twinchie collection, made from packaging in which various craft supplies arrived.

And on Wicked Wednesday ATC the challenge is Silver/Gold. I've got the Holy Grail. Wishing you to find your own holy grail in the new year!

Hand marbled paper and holographic quilling paper

Happy 2015!

And I don't even celebrate Christmas :)

We're nearly there. On EIM it's Zig Zag. I saw something like this around the internet:

And one more December hit for the Twinchie - Holly.

A further December theme on Moo Mania, "Merry Christmas".

To all my friends, who celebrate Christmas, have a merry one! I am thoroughly enjoying my Hanukkah week. We'll all come together at New Year's.

Yellow and White

Readers, please let me know whether word verification pops up when you try to comment. I will attempt to get rid of it if that's the case.

Yellow from Every Inchie Monday is fitting, as our summer is fast approaching. Like I said once before, I am not Van Gogh, but I love sunflower seeds.

Twinchie December themes continue. This week it's Snow. Since we don't have real snow, I have to make do with paper flakes.

Quilling strips 1.5mm (1/16") narrow.

Happy Holidays!

I love the new tangle Arukas, which the Weekly Challenge on the Diva.! And I love what my cyberfriend, Annette Carlo, created for this tangle - have a look here. Inspired me to tangle for the holiday I will celebrating starting next week - Hanukkah.

Yo-yo and Santa

Every Inchie Monday is asking for Yo-yo this week, so I quilled a micro yo-yo from scratch. It is actually glued to the inchie, but I had to stand it like this, as it kept falling off the easel because of its weight  :)

The keyword for Twinchie is Santa, naturally, for December:

Xenon and Advent

And so begins the final month with Xenon in Every Inchie Monday. All I could come up with is a light globe, and a humble one at that. There is Xenon in the globe.

You know, December has become such a PC month. I don't celebrate Christmas, I celebrate Hanukkah. I embrace others celebrating Christmas, anything other than Christmas or not celebrating at all. And maybe I have offended someone by neglecting to mention something else that may be celebrated this month.....  blah, blah, blah.....   whatever.

I am convinced, though, that no one is offended by good wishes. So whatever you're starting to celebrate or not celebrate this month, be healthy and rich and laugh, and not just this month, but always. Do you know why I will be celebrating Hanukkah - because I like lights in the evening and I like sweets.....    oh, but that's beginning to sound a lot like Christmas. That's what they do in the city centre here - combine the two for the whole of December. See, marketing people are not PC, they are just happy to sell anything to anyone. So they thought - lights, food.....mmmmm, why not marry the two together and sell to all of them.

Anyway.......    here's the marketing department's Advent:

X-axis and Wreath

You come up with some good ones, Trillian! On EIM, it's X-axis. This one wasn't difficult at all. I do graphs for a living, so here is one of my MS Excel report graphs, showing all's good and moving up.

The twinchie word is Wreath. Here is my wreath:

Tree Moo

This time, it's Trees on Moo Mania. I have a tiny topiary alley on a marble Moo.

Monday, 17 November 2014

Weapon and Magic

EIM keyword this week is Weapon. Here is a good one against disease and pregnancy (if the latter happens to be undesirable).

For the twinchie it's Magic. The answer is obvious, isn't it. And, yes, I've tried them.....   once.....

Knightsbridge?

Having a go at Joey's weekly tangle challenge, which, this week, is a Knightsbridge monotangle. This is not a new drawing. I know, not exactly just Knightsbridge, so I am really cool if you remove it from this challenge. I just really like this tile.

Wheat and Home

We're up to W on Every Inchie Monday, and w for Wheat. I, again, have something quilled.

And nothing spells Home, which is the twinchie keyword, like Hearth.

Any Colour is Beautiful, as long as it is Black

Or grey, particularly dark grey.
Just out from other Moo-maniacs about the Art Journal Journey blog. Their November challenge is Inspired by the Masters. There are some great pieces out there, so go check out.
This one's mine. Edvard Munch rules! That silent scream says it all, that's why I have no words for this page.
And these are my favourite colours for the Moo Mania challenge Favourite Colours.

Here is some more black with grey. My version of the tangle Seton for the Diva's Weekly Challenge #192.

Unfortunately, with all these, white has to be present. Definitely not a favourite, but, hey, this is why I scream on the inside.

Violet and Fire

Every Inchie Monday word this week is Violet. Oh how I wish I could draw like Van Gogh! Instead, I have a little quilled iris.

Quilling strips 1.5mm (1/16") narrow

The twinchie is Fire. This is my solution to it:

Zentangle & Moo

Over at Moo Mania (& More) it's Metal. Here is mine, created with hammer and anvil.

Looks like Damascus steel here

Homework on the Diva challenge is the monotangle Betweed.

And this is just a drawing. I love Judaica in all its expressions.

A Vegie Post

Hi, this week's keyword on Every Inchie Monday, Vegetable. Cabbage is good and yummy too.

The twinchie word is Pumpkins. I know this is supposed to be for Halloween, but we don't do Halloween here. Marketing people try to sell stuff for it at this time of year, but it just isn't happening. Pumpkins have other uses, for example, transport that's limited to certain hours before midnight.

Shadow and Shade

Every Inchie Monday has Umbra this week. U-M-M-B-R-A, what a phonetically beautiful word. I remember the total eclipse that was full right here in Melbourne on 23 October 1976. Spring, hot, ABBA playing in people's houses, and all the neighbours out in the street, barbecuing and waiting for this eclipse. Most of us ignored the "don't look at it directly" bit, and it was well worth it. I don't have many, but this is one of the very few happy childhood memories I have. And it's a beauty!

And the twinchie keyword is Leaves. In my world grow these trees.

Colourful Moo and Black & White Tile

The Moo's theme is Bright & Cheerful. I have a quilled Moo with typical Christmasiana, but in the fluorescent version of the usual colours.

3mm & 1.5 mm (1/8" & 1/16") paper strips

The Diva challenge this week is use the tangle Yuma. I mixed it up with a few other recent ones:

Ungual and Quotes

Ungual?!?!? That was one dictionary trip. Alright, see if you can work this one out. I promise I will let on what this is if no one guessed after a few goes. I wonder what everyone on EIM will come up with for this one.

The twinchie word is Quotes. Here are mine:

Herbstfärbung and Celtic Challenge

Haven't tangled for ages. Was finally inspired by Judy West's Celtic Challenge 34.

Slightly larger than A4

But I haven't Moo-ed for even longer. If you'd like to discover what a Moo is, have a look at Moo-Mania, their current challenge is Autumn Colours. We've got spring down here anyway, so the only autumn association is this one:

Asteraceae and Yummo - all quilled

Every Inchie Monday this week has Thistle, which is very amenable to quilling.

The twinchie is quilled too. It's Cake!!! Every town has one and Melbourne is no exception. We've got Acland Street (which happens to be in the suburb I grew up and live in). It's like an exhibition of cake shops that were started by European immigrants some time after the war. Europe does cake well.

And just once more, here is my winning piece. I picked it up with all the awards and certificates.

And there were also prizes. They gave me $350 worth of paper stuff, stamps, washi tapes, etc. Not something I would rush out to buy. But for free..... that a different story, I will find use for this. For example, there are plenty of candidates to tangle on.

Throne and Purple

It is Throne this week on EIM. The one and only thing that came to mind is the sword throne from Game of Thrones.

The twinchie is Purple. So here it is:
