Just found out I got not only first place, but best in category with this, St. Edward's Crown, at the Royal Melbourne Show taking place right now. Made entirely from paper (as per comp requirements), measures around 25x25x25 cm (10x10x10"). Just rapt, jolly good, joyous weekend!!! Here she is, her maJesty:
Every Inchie Monday has Schedule as the keyword this week. Well, I have Every Inchie Monday because I know when a new word begins it's Monday; I know when the keyword was Red, it was September 8 2014; I know when the keyword Salmon will come up, it will be Monday September 22nd; and I know it is now Monday September 15 2014. Thank you Trillian and EIM for keeping me on Schedule.
ABC Wednesday is up to I (just tipping over a third of the alphabet). Here is my icon for 'i' - it's iris folding technique, with a moon made from incandescent beads on inky blue iridescent paper.
Every Inchie Monday has Red as the keyword. I have never been here. Might get there, might not. I have Uluru (formerly known as Ayers Rock), which is smack bang in the centre of our red centre. One of the nicknames for Australia is Red Earth - our desert is cracked, dry red land, lots of it!
And the twinchie word for the week is Books. This one is quite a well known book:
ABC Wednesdays introduces H this week. Check out the heavy heart my husband sculpted one Saturday afternoon. The stone is a tiny piece of gravel I nicked from the driveway next door. This heart is no more, as was made from plasticine. That's what drove me to get some modelling clay.
Our spring begins with Renaissance on Every Inchie Monday. Oh how difficult was this one! I wanted to do everything I love about this piece of history - explorers, astronomers, medicine. Since this whole history defining movement emanated from Italy, I went to the source.
The twinchie word this week is Safari. Yes, I have yet another logo. But what a logo! Safari is the Mac browser. I love sitting here on my iMac or my iPad, staring at the Safari logo. Long live Mac!
