Octopus

Who would have ever thought that, ugh, eek, yuck, an octopus would become so endearing and weave himself into many hearts?

During the 2010 soccer World Cup, Paul, the predicting octopus from Germany did just that. Half the world developed a soft spot for Paul. He has since passed away and I will remember him for ever. This is a picture of Paul in heaven feeling happy he was already there during the 2014 World Cup, so he doesn't have to witness Brazil lose to Germany 7:1.

Cute Paul is going into this week's EIM Octopus challenge.
Here's the Wikipedia link to Paul the Octopus. Check out the memorial built to him in Germany.

  1. well I don't follow what we call soccer, so I've never heard of Paul, but he's awfully cute. So good of you to remember him in heaven

  12. Hey there my cyber buddy!!!! How in the heck are you? Well, I would love to sit and chat and fill you in on my life's happenings and find out all about yours, but I don't want to do it all on your comment page on your blog! :0) Anyway, I missed you too! Life has been a whirlwind, and I have missed so much on my blogging and I'm so behind, hoping to catch up!!
I just love your Octopus and your little story to go with it. My son had a story about a Koala, in his homework. I think it's name was Sam, and it was rescued in a really bad fire in Australia, in 2007??(I think that's right) Do you remember that? Anyway, it was a sweet story and it made me think of you!
Well, I hope to be more engaged in blogging, again! It's hard to tell. It is always nice to see your name on my screen!! Have an awesome weekend and hope all is well with you! :0) Annette

    1. Awwwwwwwwwwww, you're too sweet. Sam the Koala died from venereal disease, which he spread around the rescue sanctuary where he was taken (along with other animals) after that horrid fire. Do I remember the bushfires we have? - Melbourne is covered over by heavy black cloud during the really bad ones, so, yep remember. You are engaged (that's a word our management at work uses a lot); engagement is quality not quantity (a concept too alien for management at work). See you soon.
