Weekly Challenge #142

This week the Diva's challenge is "get out of your comfort zone". My only discomfort is colour. So here it is. Still, I had to do some outline in black because there's a limit to how much colour I can tolerate.

На этой неделе, задание Дивы "сделать что-то непривычное". Непривычное для меня это цвет. Вот моя работа в цвете. Всё равно, немножко обвела чёрным потому, как есть предел тому, сколько цвета я могу терпеть.

  2. Mooka is one of my favorite tangles! I like the embellishments on this Mooka. I also like the tangles... they are ones I haven't seen (I am still new to this!).

  3. Very nice tile. It's fun to see the dimension that color gives to your drawing. Good work :)

  6. I think that color is a challenge for a lot of people. Zentangle® provides a way to deal with this by eliminating the barrier of color. While I think this helps people get started, it is good to push a little. I think you did a great job with this. Sometimes rather than using colored markers, I like to use a colr backwash and tangle in black on top.

    1. I know what you mean. I've done the background wash and tangled in black on top. I found that wasn't bad at all, hence in my comfort zone. For the purity of this experiment I specifically used colour markers. I am lucky I don't have any good colour pencils (well, why spend money on something I loathe), otherwise I would have had to use them too.

  7. For someone who has issues using color, I think you did a fantastic job! I have a hard time using just b&w or gray-scale. I just always seem to see things that I want to draw in color. Like Donald said, Zentangle is a way to deal with the challenge (& choices) of color - it's meant to be b&w & shaded to make it an easier, more zen process. I'm pretty sure I'm just working backwards!

    Again, really great job!
