Snowflake? / Снежинка?

This month, our express challenge on Homyachok (Hamster) blog is Snowflake! Yep, I know mine are not exactly snowflakes, but stars. I have a good excuse - I live in Australia and we don't have snow and I have no idea what a snowflake is supposed to look like  :):):):):):):):):):)      At Christmas, we have stars falling from the sky!
So come on down, quickly (you have only til January 5) and show us some real snowflakes.
I am also entering these "snowflakes" in Moo-Mania & More's Snowflake challenge. Moo have now expanded to include all kinds of formats.

  1. Lovely snowflake with the silver and gold. I have been peering at it to try to work out how it was made, it's an interesting technique. I like your Moravian stars too, I'm going to check out the link.

    1. Thank you for your feedback! Star spokes cut in the centre of each star (there are 2 mirror card stock stars in different sizes). The inner spokes were folded out and the iris folding done behind the larger star. Then the smaller star was layered on top. The backing star is made from gold pearl paper and just stuck at the back to hide the iris folding. If the instructions in the link don't make sense, just search around the net for Moravian star instructions, you're bound to find some that make sense to you.
      Happy holidays!

  4. I can't take my eyes off the first star with all the gold and silver! Just like a little child when he sees something sparkly! :) I looked at the tutorial for the Moravian star and I will try to make one. Hope it's not too tricky!

    Happy Holidays!
    Hugs,
    Manu
