Egyptian Themes

The word on Every Inchie Monday this week is Egyptian. Looooove all that ancient stuff. I have one of the more recognisable symbols - Eye of Horus.

And a change of theme. Thanks to UnstampaBelles, I have finally seen a positive side of the redback spider. That disgusting, deadly creature, which you can view here, won me this prize as a result of the February challenge!

  1. Coongratulations! Your quilling is truly amazing. I haven't dared try anything that ambitious. Your spider is terrifying. I'm currently quilling the characters from the Wizard of Oz, because I so love the movie and I wanted to do something other than flowers. I'm still trying to decide what to do with the faces that doesn't make them look like cartoon characters. The heads are only about 1/2 inch round. so making eyes, etc is nearly impossible because they would be so small. I may end up drawing them in. Any ideas?

You and I must really think alike because I did the Eye of Horus as well! This isn't the first time we've done the same thing.

  3. Eye of Horus will crop up quite a bit I suspect! That's some cool quilling you've been doing again Zoe so it's nice to see your efforts rewarded.

    1. Thanks Sally! Eye of Horus is magic, so it has every right to be banal and overplayed.

    1. Agree, should have been first place and thanks for confirming (I am sure all sorts of intrigues went on at the show). :) But seriously, thanks! What you made is stunning and different. There'll be plenty of Horuse's this week.

  6. I can't believe you didn't get first place. Maybe you've won with them before and they just want to give someone else a chance LOL! Amazing pieces! I thought I was so clever to come up with the Eye of Ra. Guess not HAHA!

  7. Congratulations on your win. How long did the picture take you, it is gorgeous and looks very involved. Love your inchie, I started to do the Eye of Horus also. I have seen several videos on the redback on YouTube and it looks quite nasty. But see every dark cloud has a silver lining.
